By

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift donated $26 million to at least 20 charities across the United States this week, per Variety, as confirmed by a representative for Swift, with the donation timed to the couple’s wedding festivities in New York City.

Two law enforcement sources told CBS News the ceremony is set for Friday at Madison Square Garden, with a rehearsal dinner at the Infosys Theater beneath the arena Thursday night.

The 20 recipient organizations reflect both the location of this week’s events and the cities where Kelce and Swift have built their lives. Nine food banks received money, including City Harvest, Food Bank for New York City, New York Cares, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Harvesters in Kansas City, The Store in Nashville, Helping Harvest in Reading, Pennsylvania, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, and Feeding America nationally.

The ASPCA received funds as the animal welfare organization in the group. Six educational programs were included, among them Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Grammy In The Schools, Education Through Music, After-School All-Stars chapters in New York and Cleveland, and Musical Mentors.

Answer The Call, which supports first responder families, was also included on the list. Three children’s hospitals completed the list: MSK Kids at Memorial Sloan Kettering, Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone, and Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.

City Harvest confirmed a $1 million donation.

“We are incredibly grateful for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s generous $1 million donation to City Harvest,” said CEO Jilly Stephens. “This donation is a love letter to New York, and a bold commitment to our efforts to ensure that no New Yorker goes hungry. Their support comes at a critical time, with visits to New York City soup kitchens and food pantries near record highs and expected to increase further in response to federal funding cuts.”

The Rhode Island Community Food Bank described the gift as “extraordinarily generous and unexpected,” per CEO Melissa Cherney.

Swift has previously given tens of millions to food banks ahead of stops on her Eras Tour. Kelce operates his own nonprofit and has been recognized by the Kansas City Chiefs organization for charitable involvement.

The combined $26 million represents the largest single charitable announcement either has made in connection to a personal life event.
