Fan take: Former Eagles pick Rasul Douglas returning to NFC East with Commanders
Free agent cornerback Rasul Douglas is planning to sign a one-year deal with the Washington Commanders worth up to $3.8 million, returning to the NFC East for the first time since his three seasons in Philadelphia that began his NFL career.
Per Pro Football Reference, he was targeted 82 times in 2025, allowing 54 catches for 515 yards while defending 13 passes and recording two interceptions. He was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week in Week 14 after defending five passes and picking off the New York Jets.
Douglas was a third-round pick of the Eagles in 2017. After his time in Philadelphia, he spent stints with the Carolina Panthers, Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills, and Miami Dolphins, becoming one of the league’s more durable starters despite spending much of his career on short-term contracts.
Washington ranked among the worst secondaries in the league in 2025.
