Emmanuel Acho sides with Austin Rivers and calls out Draymond's 'hubris and arrogance'
The Draymond Green and Austin Rivers feud grabbed attention this week, but not everyone focused on who landed the harder punch. Emmanuel Acho of Speakeasy was more interested in what the whole exchange revealed.
“Draymond has to acknowledge, if nothing else by humility, that he was in one of, if not the greatest situation any player in modern sports has been put into. Troy Aikman has to acknowledge he got to play behind the best offensive line, and with one of the best running backs, and with one of the best wide receivers, and with one of the best fullbacks, and with one of the best defenses. You have to acknowledge that. And anything other than acknowledging that would be ignorant. Julian Edelman has to acknowledge he played with one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. You have to acknowledge that. It is not to say that Draymond Green is not an immense contributor to everything the Warriors have built. He obviously absolutely [is]. But the hubris and arrogance that Draymond Green incessantly speaks as though he is not part of the whole, as opposed to being the whole, is what I believe Austin Rivers is speaking to. Furthermore, Austin Rivers never attacked Draymond Green. He was actually praising Draymond Green. He just took issue with one thing Draymond said. Then Draymond tried to eviscerate everything Austin Rivers has ever done, including Austin Rivers’ dad. So I understand why Austin Rivers had the response, because it was relatively accurate.”
“Draymond Green uses his 4 rings as a license to disrespect every lesser accomplished man with no repercussions”

The back-and-forth started on The Dan Patrick Show, where Rivers, an NBC Sports analyst, called Green’s claim that Steve Kerr “hindered” his career development “ridiculous.” Green fired back on his podcast, mocking Rivers’ career trajectory and invoking his father, Doc Rivers.
Green has four rings and a strong case for the Hall of Fame. But the question of whether he would have built that same legacy anywhere else is one he has so far shown no interest in sitting with honestly.
